Every profile begins with a neutral rating, then moves as rated games are completed.

Ball Knowledge, quantified.
Ball IQ is an Elo-style rating for sports knowledge. Every ranked game turns your result into a score from 0 to 1, compares it with the board's expected result, and updates your rating based on how much you beat—or missed—that expectation.
2187Ball IQ
Scores move more when you outperform the expected result for a board's difficulty.
Sport-specific games feed that sport's IQ first while still contributing to overall Ball IQ.

Sport IQ
Overall score up top. Sport scores underneath.
Games like Crossover and Rosters can be played by sport, so their results sharpen the sport bars on your profile while still nudging your overall rating.

Game by game
How each ranked game scores your run.
Each game creates a 0–1 performance score. That score is measured against the game's calibrated difficulty—not against a fixed pass line.
Shot Clock
Correct answers ÷ questions answeredEvery timed prompt has its own difficulty. Your full-round accuracy is compared with the score the model expected.
Hot Streak
Correct answers ÷ questions reachedOne miss ends the run. A longer streak before that miss produces a stronger result against the board's expected difficulty.
Grid Iron
Correct cells ÷ 9Easy through Expert cells calibrate independently, while the complete board creates one Ball IQ result.
Top 5
Exact order × attempt creditA first-try solve earns full credit. Each later attempt reduces credit to 80%, 60%, 40%, then 20%; an unsolved board earns zero.
Crossover
Correct cells ÷ 9Every square has its own difficulty. Because the board is sport-specific, most rating movement goes to that Sport IQ.
Rosters
100% → 40% across six cluesSolving with fewer clues earns more credit: 100%, 88%, 75%, 62%, 50%, or 40%. A miss earns zero.
