How to Play Rosters: Guess the Athlete From a Progressive Clue Ladder

Learn the central idea behind Rosters, where six increasingly helpful clues lead toward one mystery athlete.

Every athlete has a trail: teams, schools, positions, awards, statistics, teammates, and defining moments. Rosters turns that trail into a clue ladder.

Each daily puzzle points to one mystery player through six progressively useful clues. You can submit an answer as soon as you think you know the athlete, but revealing more information reduces the credit available for the solve.

The tension is built into every step. An early clue may be broad enough to fit several players. One more clue could confirm your read—or reduce the reward for getting there.
